In 1993 I started Ozark Environmental Awareness Fund and produced the CD "Children of the Ozarks Sing for their Environment" which lead to "A Get Well Play" sponsored by Bass Pro Shops. In 2007 "Eco Fantasy Tour" a much updated version with new characters and all new songs was conceived. It is now time to get the show on the road! We are currently recording the music and the book is being illustrated. Once that is finished it will go to print. We will then produce a live show with the main characters shown on this website under the character tab. The ultimate goal is to have school children everywhere perform the play themselves.

As a child Michael was enthralled by the Disney animated films and the myriad of Looney tunes characters. His father, a fine artist has been a tremendous influence and role model in Michael’s artistic development. In his early teens he discovered Robert E. Howard’s Conan series and Karl Edward Wagner’s Kane series with Frazetta covers. For fantasy art, Frank Frazetta is the high water mark. After reading Tolkien’s Hobbit and Lord Of The Rings, Michael knew he wanted to pursue a career which would allow him to participate in the creation of such fantastic stories and images. Just reaching the path was a rather twisted journey which includes obtaining a physics degree from Wake Forest, work in sales and marketing, engineering, quality control and finally back to school for a commercial art degree.
In the fall of 1993 he was introduced to computer graphics and realized the vast potential it offers for creative art. Although the majority of his color illustrations are now done on the computer, alas all sketches and preliminary work starts with pencil on tracing paper. The pencils are scanned into the computer to be completed using a variety of software and pressure sensitive tablet.
Michael lives in Winston-Salem, NC

As a young girl growing up in Sterling, IL, I would listen daily and sing along to albums of musicals such as Mary Poppins, Sound of Music, The Music Man and South Pacific. And even gathered the neighbor kids and put on a show for our parents. When I picked up a guitar at 18 I immediately started writing songs and performed at Willow Creek Folk Festival and small clubs. After moving to Branson, MO, I ended up performing in several different shows for 20 years including Silver Dollar City, Shoji Tabuchi, Jim Owen and Mickey Gilley. During that time I started OEAF and produced festivals, concerts and "The Get Well Play". In 2007 I re-wrote the play which lead to the book, "Eco Fantasy Tour". With the help of very talented musicians all new songs are set to be recorded for the new play. I've never been more ready to get this show on the road! kris wilson
